VENUE: Matso's Brewery Sunshine Coast.

85 Memorial Drive, Eumundi, Sunshine Coast.

Take a spin through Aussie holidays of the past with MOTEL, the acclaimed live show from comedian and self proclaimed design nerd Tim Ross and musician Kit Warhurst.

Sentimental, nostalgic and of course hilarious, this is a must for anyone who has checked in and helped themselves to a twin pack of biscuits in a classic motel.

"Warhurst and Ross are comedic geniuses, highly talented singers and great lyricists. They will bring you laughter as you follow them on their journey in their old bench-seat Ford. 5 stars." - Arts Hub

"Hilarious" - The Age

For this special performance, they are taking over the front bar at Matso's Brewery - recently rejuvenated by Five Mile Radius in collaboration with Knight Wilson Architects and built by Hutchinson Builders.

Tickets are general admission, unallocated seating. The show runs for 1 hour and 20 mins.

Matso's Eumundi is a 1000m² adaptive reuse hospitality project with architecture, interiors, and furniture project designed by Five Mile Radius in collaboration with Knight Wilson Architects and built by Hutchinson Builders.

In late 2021, we were approached by Matso's to design their new Queensland outpost. The Western Australian brewery, famous for their mango and ginger beers, has opened a new home at the legendary Joe's Waterhole.

The project involves the restoration of the 1920s timber and tin pub, as well as the demolition of various water-damaged additions to make way for a new brewery, bistro, and landscape to the rear of the pub. The new addition consists of four gable-roofed pavilions which echo the proportions of the heritage-listed pub and provide a legible and adaptable 'shed' for future generations.

The design aims to regenerate the extensive garden to the rear of the site and to connect this garden to the street. A full survey of salvageable demolition material was undertaken, with many aspects of the new works built from these recycled materials.

Our workshop reworked much of the original pub furniture, resulting in a nearly entirely recycled and Australian hardwood-based furnishing for the new venue.
