After a sell-out Australian tour earlier this year, design buddies Kevin McCloud and Tim Ross are heading to Oberon for two intimate shows at the Art Deco Malachi Gilmore Hall.
After receiving an email inviting them to perform at the recently restored hall, they threw caution to the wind and said YES!
United by a long-standing friendship and a shared obsession with architecture and design, Kevin and Tim are bringing their infectious banter, honed over three seasons of their hit podcast Tim & Kev’s Big Design Adventure, to the stage.
Audiences are in for a funny, thought-provoking and ultimately optimistic conversation about the places we live, the places we love and the places we could create.
Expect lively debate, plenty of laughter and a few unexpected detours.

The Malachi Gilmore Hall was built in 1937 by the Catholic Diocese as a ‘Picture Show and Dance Hall’ to serve the community of Oberon. The building presents a startlingly bold Rationalist Art Deco design by Agabiti & Millane, architects of Sydney.
The Malachi was at the centre of the town’s social life, with balls, variety shows, school concerts, Queen competitions, CWA dances and sports club dinners, not to mention the talkies!
It reopened in 2018.
The Malachi Gilmore Hall is situated in a prominent location on the main street of Oberon, NSW.
On the western slopes of the Blue Mountains, Oberon is an hour’s drive from Katoomba or 35 minutes from Bathurst, and is only a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Sydney or Canberra.
The nearest train stations are at Mount Victoria (CityRail services) or Tarana (‘Bathurst Bullet’ services). There are regular bus services from Bathurst, and a bus service runs Monday to Friday to and from Tarana, connecting with the second morning Bullet service towards Sydney and the first afternoon Bullet service from Sydney.
