After years of friendship and a shared obsession with architecture and design, Kevin McCloud and Tim Ross are taking their banter and big ideas on the road - and, true to form, they’re doing it in some very interesting places.
From a Brutalist theatre to a reimagined heritage-listed church and one of Australia’s most loved public buildings, Live in Interesting Places brings together two great talkers and thinkers for an evening of stories, laughter, and design-fuelled inspiration.
It’s the first time they’ve shared a stage since their two sold-out shows at the Sydney Opera House in 2019, a collaboration rekindled with the release of their hit podcast Tim & Kev’s Big Design Adventure.
“It’s going to be entertaining and edifying,” promises Kevin.
“And full of surprises – you won’t believe where our nerdy curiosity will take you,” adds Tim.
Tickets for this very special live experience are strictly limited, please book now to avoid missing out.

The Octagon at University of Western Australia
Opened in 1969, The Octagon Theatre at The University of Western Australia stands as one of Perth’s most distinctive performance venues. Designed by architect Peter Parkinson in partnership with Lex Hill, its eight-sided form was an innovative response to the need for a flexible, intimate theatre space and its thrust stage concept was amongst the first in Australia. The concrete block structure, sharply geometric yet warm in tone, captures the modernist optimism of the era.
The theatre’s compact design ensures every audience member feels close to the stage, a deliberate contrast to the grand but impersonal auditoriums of the time. Over the decades, The Octagon has hosted everything from chamber music and student productions to international theatre and festivals, remaining a beloved cultural hub on campus as well as a regular venue for lectures. More than fifty years on, its bold architecture and superb acoustics continue to make it a cornerstone of Perth’s performing arts scene.
This show is proudly presented in partnership with the University of Western Australia School of Design and supported by Perth Design Week.
